About the Lunsford Award

The Lunsford Oral Presentation of Research Award recognizes the innovative oral and multimedia presentations that students create in their PWR 2 and Write 2 classes. While there are many opportunities on campus for students to be rewarded for their writing, the Lunsford Award recognizes dynamic presentations that effectively blend research and multimedia elements with a strong oral delivery. The Lunsford Award thus emphasizes excellence and innovation in presentation as well as strong research, mirroring the complexity of the projects students develop in PWR 2 or Write 2.

Nominations are submitted on a quarterly basis. Starting in the 2009-2010 academic year, there have been two winners per quarter for each award, and all winners and nominees are invited to an awards ceremony in May.
